After her industrial education as media designer with technical focus, Sabine studied Computer Science in Media at Furtwangen University and wrote her Diploma Thesis about natural language processing in the context of mobile dialogue systems in 2006.
With attending the Master's program Computer Science in Media at Furtwangen University in 2007 she deepens her studies of natural language interaction between customers and products within intelligent environments (Master thesis: "Natural-language Communication with Product Bundles in Shopping Situations"). Beside her research activities, Sabine worked in diverse industry projects.
Sabine Janzen is participant of the pilot phase of the "Software Campus" - a development program for master and PhD students of Computer Science. She is project manager of the project „SatIN – Satisficing Mixed Intention Sets in Non-Collaborative Dialogues“ that focuses on IT-supported non-collaborative dialogues covering incongruent intentions of the participants considered from an analytical, conceptual and technical perspective. Detailed information concerning project objectives is given on the project web site of SatIN.
Her field of research within her PhD thesis is the design and implementation of information systems with a focus on Human-Computer-Interaction (HCI) in non-collaborative dialogue situations characterized by incongruent intentions of the participants. Furthermore, she is interested in situational design methods for information systems embedded in physical environments and based on web-based, semantic data resources.
