Sabine Janzen

Position: Research Associate

Sabine Janzen is research associate at chair in Information and Service Systems (ISS), faculty of Business Administration. As a member of the Saarbrücken Graduate School of Computer Science, she is PhD student of the Computer Science department (supervisor: Prof. Wolfgang Wahlster).

Short Biography

After studying Computer Science in Media (Diploma), Sabine deepens her studies of natural language interaction between customers and products within intelligent environments with attending the Master's program Computer Science in Media at Furtwangen University. During her master studies she worked as a research assistant in diverse national and international research and industry projects at the Research Center for Intelligent Media (RCIM) at Furtwangen University (e.g., BMBF project SmaProN, EU project IKS). Sabine Janzen was participant of the pilot phase of the "Software Campus" - a development program for master and PhD students of Computer Science. She was project manager of the project „SatIN – Satisficing Mixed Intention Sets in Non-Collaborative Dialogues“ that focuses on dialogue systems that support dialogues covering congruent and conflicting intentions of the participants considered from an analytical, conceptual and technical perspective.

Research Interests

Her field of research within her PhD thesis is the design and implementation of intelligent and cooperative user interfaces in the context of human-computer-interaction (HCI) with mixed motives of involved actors, i.e. congruent and incongruent, partial conflicting motives. Especially, cooperative dialogue systems in mixed motive dialogues will be considered from a computational pragmatics perspective.
